Happy to see the Itch.io page getting a bit of attention again. As much as I understand why Steam might be easier to manage, I think the occasional (say, yearly) big, big demo releases on secondary stores like this is nice too.
Admittedly I'm quite more vary about the Steam ecosystem than the usual person, though.
The main reason the game is Steam exclusive for now is mostly because it is very annoying to maintain several versions in different platforms, also we use steam workshop and integrated achievements. Also setting up all the bank and tax info and forms to receive payments is always a headache.
